Organic winegrowers by conviction

Since 1991, the Santer organic winery in Mühlbach has stood for sustainable organic viticulture, respect for nature and the authentic enjoyment of wine. Our philosophy is rooted in foresight and a deep understanding of the soil, climate and region. Every step – from the vineyard and the care of the vines right through to the harvest – is carried out with care and an awareness of nature.

For us, organic viticulture means responsibility, conviction and sustainable action. We consciously avoid synthetic chemicals, promote biodiversity and tend our vineyards by hand, drawing on our experience. Healthy soils, vibrant vines and sustainable farming practices form the foundation for wines that authentically reflect their origin, vintage and character.

Since 1994, we have relied entirely on PIWI varieties (fungus-resistant grape varieties). These special vines are particularly resistant to fungal diseases and enable viticulture that is exceptionally close to nature, with significantly reduced use of plant protection products – in harmony with nature.

Tradition and modernity come together: time-honoured expertise passed down through generations meets state-of-the-art winery technology to preserve the character of the grapes and produce wines of depth and elegance.

But our philosophy encompasses more than just wine. At our organic vineyard, we combine fruit growing, farm-fresh juices and livestock into a vibrant, ecological cycle. This holistic approach to farming also shapes the quality of our products. Our aim is to bring nature’s gifts to life – in the glass, in the vineyard and during a stay in our new apartments in the Puster Valley.
