Our organic winery in South Tyrol

When sustainability becomes a way of life

Organic viticulture has been an integral part of the philosophy of the Santer organic winery in Mühlbach in the Puster Valley for over three decades. The estate switched to organic viticulture as early as 1991.

Our vision looks far beyond simply avoiding the use of synthetic chemical pesticides. We live and work within a holistic system that connects soil, vines, animals and people. At the heart of this is a living vineyard, cultivated in harmony with nature, which forms the basis for sustainable, high-quality wines.

Nature in the heart & on the palate

We work exclusively with PIWI grape varieties (fungus-resistant grape varieties). These special vines are particularly resilient to fungal diseases such as mildew, enabling us to significantly reduce the use of plant protection measures.

Our aim is to preserve soil health, strengthen the vines’ resilience and produce wines that authentically reflect their origin, the vintage and the character of the landscape. The result is organic wines from South Tyrol that are honest, vibrant and distinctive.
